Dr. Arifur Rahman is an accomplished physician, entrepreneur, and philanthropist with over four decades of experience spanning healthcare, international manpower, banking, and business leadership. He began his career serving as an attending physician to Palestinian leader Yasir Arafat and later as a Captain in the Saudi National Guard Military Services. Dr. Rahman played a pivotal role in promoting Bangladeshi human resources abroad, helping secure employment for over 1.5 million workers.
He is a founding Vice Chairman and shareholder of Premier Bank PLC and the Chairman of multiple ventures including The Shoes BD Ltd, Denim Polymer Industries Ltd., and Always On Network Bangladesh. He also leads the International Institute of Global Studies (IIGS) and publishes The Ambassador.
Beyond business, Dr. Rahman has been deeply engaged in philanthropy, lobbying for cyclone shelters in Bangladesh and securing millions of COVID-19 vaccine doses for the nation. In 2024, he also produced the feature film SABA, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival.
